Description

The theatre running away from theatre is a phenomenon as old as the theatre itself, and smart phrase based on terminological turbulences, because theatre has many meanings: starting with the place and building, through artistic practice on stage, the group of creators pursuing it, and finally, the history of this form of art.  The escapes of theatre to the outside of theatre have taken on varied forms in Poland.

Artists have fled from spaces prescribed to them by tradition to look for the contact with the audience which was not familiar with the conventional models of interpreting performances.

The project was produced by The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute as part of the Prague Quadrennial 2007.

Financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
